Each month CrossFit River Prairie (located in Altoona, WI) will be choosing an athlete of the month that we feel represents what we look for in athletes coming to train with us. We look for athletes that work hard, listen to instruction, show up consistently, never give up, do their best, have a positive attitude, and are kind and respectful to others.
Please help us congratulate our July athlete of the month, Kjerstin (KJ)!!! She works hard, shows up consistently, always has a smile on her face, asks questions, is very coachable, gets to know people around the box and has a great attitude!
We asked her a few questions about herself, check out her answers below:
When did you first start CrossFit?
I started June 18 in the intro class
What were you doing for exercise before CrossFit?
Insanity at home in my basement and I coach basketball and volleyball.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Toss up between kettlebell swings and wall balls
What are your goals by the end of the year?
Kipping pull up
What motivates you to keep coming to the gym week after week?
The people and the positive atmosphere
What are 1 or 2 accomplishments when it comes to your health and fitness that you’ve experienced since starting at CrossFit River Prairie?
Sticking to the regimen weekly, Working out 4-5 times per week
What’s your favorite color?
What is your least favorite exercise?
What would your advice be to someone just starting out CrossFit or that’s thinking about starting?
I was afraid of getting hurt and knowing that if you know the correct form and build weight, that chance is drastically reduced.
