October Male Athlete of the Month: Chris

October’s Male Athlete of the Month is the one and only Chris!

Chris has been working his butt off since day one of walking in the door. He hated running when he came into our facility and a few months later he’s running a mile with no issues. He’s VERY strong so working on form for him has been key and he continues to improve daily. He goes to the “extra” Gymnastic and Weightlifting classes weekly in addition to regular CrossFit classes because this man wants to be the best he can be, and it shows! Congrats, Chris! We have noticed your hard work.

When did you first start CrossFit?
I have been wanting to do it for about 10 years. Joined CrossFit River Prairie in August. Thank you Lindsay!

Increased strength and mobility.

What motivates you to keep coming to the gym week after week?
I love being in the gym. Lindsay and I get excited to see the next day’s WOD.

What are 1 or 2 accomplishments when it comes to your health and fitness that you’ve experienced since starting at CrossFit River Prairie
I have traps and I can see four of my abs. My cardio is greatly improved.

What’s your favorite color?
Blue 👮

What’s your favorite music to workout to?
The heavier and meaner, the better.

What is your least favorite exercise?
Squat, front / back doesn’t matter.

What would your advice be to someone just starting out CrossFit or that’s thinking about starting?
Finish the first day and come back the next.

What’s your favorite local restaurant?
The Plus for brunch on Sundays.

If you see Chris around the gym, be sure to give him a big high five!
