Congrats to Josh for being September’s ATHLETE OF THE MONTH!
Josh comes to class consistently, has an amazing attitude, works hard, kicks everyone’s butt in running workouts (he’s an animal, folks), cheers others on and encourages during workouts, and loves a challenge.
We asked him some questions about his CrossFit experience, read what he had to say below:
When did you first start CrossFit?
When CrossFit River Prairie Opened (June 2018)
What were you doing for exercise before CrossFit?
Distance Running, Cardio, Basketball, Golf (if that counts)
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Wall Balls, Kettle Bell Swings
What are your goals by the end of the year?
20 Consecutive Double Unders, Improve Flexibility/Range of Motion
What motivates you to keep coming to the gym week after week?
Trying to be healthy for my family. Also, the group during the workouts helps. If they aren’t stopping then I need to keep going.
What are 1 or 2 accomplishments when it comes to your health and fitness that you’ve experienced since starting at CrossFit River Prairie?
Finished every workout under the time cap and pushed myself hard every day. When I was working out alone I never worried about the time and it was easy to not give 100%.
What’s your favorite color?
What is your least favorite exercise?
Assault Bike, Burpees, Anything Overhead…Did you just want one? Should I keep going?
What would your advice be to someone just starting out CrossFit or that’s thinking about starting?
CrossFit workouts are challenging, that’s the point. Put your head down and keep going.
What’s your favorite local restaurant?
Amber Inn Bar & Grill — Cheeseburger, Fries, 2 Spotted Cows. Great now I’m hungry…
Great work, Josh! If you see him around the gym, be sure to give him the biggest of high fives.
